Sound Rowers runs on the dedication of a select group of volunteers. New members are always welcome! Here are some of the ways you can become involved:
Sound Rowers has a new position for a tech-savvy, level-headed individual (or two or three). Responsibilities include: being conversant in all aspects of running the Webscorer application; specifically race registration, race timing, and uploading results. Also ensuring the tablet and keyboard are fully charged on race day. The application is pretty straightforward to use, but requires training and practice for ease of use. As it may be a bit much to ask a single person to attend every Sound Rowers race, this position could be shared – as long as all are equally up to speed on the application. A stipend of $40 per race is available for this position. If interested, contact email@example.com.
Sound Rowers has set the gold standard for determining boat classifications; our categories are used by races and organizations world wide. Tom Cartmill spearheaded this project, based on the waterline length/width ratios of the boat. New boats are coming fast and furious, and Tom has retired from updating our list. It would be great if we could continue our leadership in this area. Interested? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
