Reporting Race Results

When reporting race results, please include the following information and use the following conventions:

  • Name of Race
  • Date of Race
  • Race Conditions

List the competitors in order of finish, and include for each competitor:

  • Place Overall
  • Name
  • Class
  • Place in Class
  • Time

Historically SR race reports have often included hometowns of participants and the make and model of their boats. This makes for more interesting race-result reading and better SR history. Race Directors are encouraged to include this info in their race reports.

The standard classes include:

  • Kayaks: HPK, FSK, SK (High Performance Kayak, Fast Sea Kayak, Sea Kayak)
  • Double Kayaks: HPK2, FSK2, SK2
  • Flat water kayaks: K-1, K-2, K-4
  • Open water shells: OW-III, OW-II, OW-I, Wherry
  • Race shells: 1X, 2X, 4X (Racing single, double, quad)
  • Outriggers: OC1, OC2, OC6 (single, double, six)
  • PEDAL

Preface the class with the gender: M (Men), W (Women), MX (Mixed).
